Ft. Sewall, Marblehead, MA. – 01.01.20

Happy New Year!

The following are a series of pics I shot at sunrise on New Year’s Day at Fort Sewall in Marblehead, Massachusetts. I was up and out the door at five am, and was immediately embraced by the absolute silence that surrounded me from the moment I left my house right up to when I left Marblehead a few hours later. It was a terrific way to usher in the new year and decade, and the perfect way for me to start the next chapter of my life.

Photo Therapy For a Sad Sunday In August – 08.04.19

One way to deal with the horrible state of our society is to shut out the outside world and simply create. Writing a poem or short story, producing a song or, in my case, going through archives and finding some photos to dive into, edit and share with the world. Ones that suggest a sense of calm, of solitude. Of peace.

The four photos below were ones I chose to help me deal with this weekend’s horrible events here in North America, and they are ones that I dedicate to the 29 innocent souls who lost their lives in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019.

May they be at peace.

Sunset-Marblehead, MA 07.20.19

My favorite spot up in Marblehead was roughly ten degrees cooler than Melrose this early evening, so I hopped in the car and headed off to enjoy the sunset and get the hell out of my stuffy apartment for a couple of hours. And while it was still hot and humid up in Marblehead, ten degrees cooler right on the water made all the difference in the world.

Marblehead & Nahant, MA – 06.01.19

Tonight was a visually interesting one along the North Shore in Massachusetts. While further instate it was sunny and warm, the coast was cooler and occasionally shrouded in fog. The second photo, taken across the way from Nahant Beach, was a mix of sun, advancing fog and some smoke that headed into the region apparently from some wildfires in Canada.
