“Here and There Volume Two” Update

After much consideration, I have decided to put the second book for this year on indefinite hold, possibly cancelled altogether. The first book sold exactly one copy, which didn’t amount to much in terms of donations to the IRC (a $50 contribution has been made, however, this past Friday). Should any additional sales materialize, the sales proceeds will continue to be contributed to the IRC.

It was great fun to produce and work on this project for the past 16 months, and I was -for the first time in a long time- quite hopeful when it was done that the work could be used to help others. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out that way.

Who knows? Maybe things will turn around and I will delve into the project again, or maybe I will just keep posting photos here and donate on my own. But for now, there will be no second book in 2017 or perhaps anytime after that.

Thank you to everyone who did offer their support. It meant all the difference. -SF

Announcing “Here and There…Volume One”

Over a year in the making, I am happy to announce that my third collection of photography, Here and There…Volume One, is now available for purchase. This is a collection of photographs I have taken from the past 16 months, capturing places such as Cadillac Mountain, Nubble Lighthouse and The Boston Common at their most serene (yes, even downtown Boston can be a peaceful place).

The locations captured in Here and There not only afforded me the opportunity to take some great pictures, it also gave me something even more important these days: peace of mind. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to experience that privilege. For many -such as the people of Syria-, everyday life is anything but peaceful. Theirs, like many around the world, is a situation that grows more desperate by the minute, and one that needs our help.

This is why I am very proud to announce that the net proceeds from each copy of Here and There…Volume One sold will be going to the International Rescue Committee. The IRC helped over 26 million people worldwide in 2016, and with our help that number can go even higher.  If you can’t afford the book right now, I hope you will consider a direct contribution to the IRC.

Thanks for your time and consideration, and I hope you enjoy the book!

Hampton Beach/Plum Island Part One – 4/2/17

Snow, sleet and rain on Saturday, heavy rain due every other day for the upcoming week. Fortunately, Sunday proved to be an absolute gem weather-wise (Monday the third was as well). And what better way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon than going on a quick road trip to enjoy the sun, warm temps and take pics!
