Here are a few remaining photos from the recent snow events. I wasn’t going to post the fourth photo until I saw the creepy snow face in the right side of the frame. Cue Tubular Bells… 
Here is a second batch of photos from this afternoon’s blizzard walk in downtown Melrose. As you can see, I wasn’t entirely alone in my quest to get outdoors. I went largely with black and white photos for the two groups of pics. Not a lot of color to be had on such a stormy day. I also wanted to evoke a feeling similar to the photos from snowstorms past, such as the Blizzard of ’78 and ones from the 50s and 60s. Any time we get a big snowstorm like Juno, the Boston sites will post pictures of snow events past. Undoubtedly me going through them last night influenced my shooting today. 
The first big snowstorm to hit the New England area this winter just happened to also be the first blizzard for the region in the past couple of years. It started in earnest last night and as of this writing is still going on outside. We have approximately two feet of snow thus far and the winds have been been quite gusty, which adds up to four foot drifts, unplowed sidewalks and streets and the ultimate opportunity to get outside and take some photos!
I may have another set coming up in a few hours. I may also wander out once it gets dark to take some nighttime snaps…if my clothes defrost in time. 😉
We finally got some decent snow here in Melrose today. And given just how sick and tired I am of hearing about the New England Patriots’ so-called scandal Deflategate, I was only more than happy to head out in the wintry cold to take some pics.
We apparently have a blizzard en route for Tuesday. We’ll see how adventurous I am feeling.
What better time to think about the warm season than the first weekend of January? Think warm thoughts, boys and girls. Warmer days and nights will be here before you know it.
